摘要
This study explored students' perceptions toward counsellors' personality counsellors as survey of college student views by investigating three aspects which are attraction, expertise and reliability. A total number of respondent, who are 160 respondents (n= 160; 103 females and 57 males) who are students of Kolej Universiti Islam Sultan Azlan Shah (KUISAS), took part in the survey. The results indicated that generally the students had moderate perceptions of three aspects with score mean values above 2.7. There are also differences on students' perceptions between males and females, where females are more positive toward the expertise and reliability of counsellors. The result of t-test indicated the significant differences between gender and expertise (t=0.021 and 0.011, p < 0.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed that among the three variables, only attraction and expertise significantly predicted students' perception toward counsellor's personality. The recommendations for the professionalism counsellors' awareness and use of help are discussed. Finally, this study will increase knowledge of professionalism of counsellors and improve the way of counselling services and the interventions are designed that aim to encourage students to seek psychological help.
