O-2/CO2 combustion is a promising technique for recovering CO2 from flue gas generated by coal-fired power plant. The fuel in such a system is burned in an O-2/CO2 mixture instead of air, raising the CO2 concentration in the flue gas to about 95%. This paper describes the trial design of a plant based on the O-2/CO2 combustion technique, the study of the economy of the plant, and the results of the research on the CO2 recovery from IGCC plants we started to improve the efficiency.
