摘要
Today technolo*' is progressing in leaps and bounds. This is due to the fact that the rate of teclmological progress is increasing at a very fast rate. 'This is very beautifully captured by Moore's law. Technologies are becoming, outdated as quiddy as within 6 months of their roll out. As a result, rate of obsolescence is also increasing rapidly. This is now a major problem in several industries primarily because of the large investment required to setup any system 'Thus the question arises whether to change with the times or not. ln this paper, we will be listing down the benefits of migrating from a standalone type of environment i.e. where multiple applications are being run on multiple stand alone desktop systems to a server client model i.e. where there will be a single server where applications will run and users will have access to the same through thin clients.
