摘要
Available literature has indicated that a thin-walled concrete filled steel tube (CFST) contributes to an ideal moment resisting capacity at the web-plate connection when the bolting type design is applied. In this research program, a combination of analytical and experimental studies was conducted to comprehend the behaviour of CFST attached with web-plate connection toward tensile resistance when the end-plate thickness and bolt arrangement changed. Four specimens had been tested using pull-out test. Each specimen consisted of a CFST column with a thin steel tube thickness of 2mm and attached to a T-stub type of connection. All columns and connections are fastened by M20 grade 8.8 with 110mm and 150mm longitudinal spacing between bolts whereas the thicknesses of T-stub end plate are 10mm and 12mm thick end-plate. The monotonic pull-out loading test was used until the specimens reached failure. Based on test results, the ultimate load for all specimens shows a similar behaviour with the Eurocode 3 standard. It can be concluded that the thin-walled CFST column is shown to be reliable to be used for tensile resisting composite frame structures especially for medium to high rise structures.
