Why D-branes behave as black holes

We discuss the relation between the perturbative description of D-branes states in string theory and the semiclassical. description as black holes. We show that a large class of string loop corrections to the emission of Hawking radiation from D-branes vanishes at lowe energies, thus providing a justification for the agreement of the tree level results with the semiclassical results.
