摘要
A mobile ad hoc network consists of nodes that move arbitrarily and form dynamic topologies. The distributed nature of the networks and their link stability pose critical challenges in the design of routing protocols for them. Also, the lifetime of individual nodes in MANET is dependent on their battery power. This is critically important as the failure of battery resources may severely affect the communication capabilities of the node. Temporally ordered routing protocol (TORA) is a highly adaptive, loop-free, and distributed routing algorithm for mobile ad hoc networks (MANET). The protocol emphasizes on stable routes, with multi-path. Thus, we propose to investigate TORA under different mobility patterns and mobility models. We model TORA for its energy consumption capabilities, and extend the analysis for TCP and UDP-based traffic models.
