摘要
We have developed a meta-level link mechanism to support collaborative knowledge work. The meta-level links relate Web resources in a formal manner outside of their contents. The mechanism enables distributed co-workers to establish, delete, and obtain the information on relationship between I Web resources via enhanced HTTP. The meta-level links can relate any kinds of Web resources, including images, audio, and video. Based on the mechanism, we have implemented EColabor, a hypermedia system for supporting collaborative document production in both synchronous and asynchronous manner. EColabor uses meta-level links to relate all pieces of the the information including versions of documents, discussions of the documents, change histories, and video segments, which are generated and referred to during collaboration.
