摘要
A new approach to compute turbulent flows has been developed. It uses multiple numbers of turbulence models for various areas of the flow. Currently Baldwin-Lomax, Johnson-King and K-E models are used. The models are applied at areas where they are known to be more accurate and efficient. In this study the flows around an aerofoil section are tested. Baldwin-Lomax model is used at the favourable pressure gradient region, Johnson-King model with the adverse pressure gradient area and K-epsilon model at the wake region. The results show there is hardly any difference in the results when compared with those of Johnson-King model alone. The computing time for the hybrid code is only 18% more. With this new approach, a substantial reduction in computing time and memory requirements can be possible with little sacrifice in the accuracy of the results.
