摘要
Carbonation is the result of interaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas in the atmosphere with the alkaline hydroxides In the concrete. CO2 diffuses through the concrete and rate of movement of the carbonation front roughly follow Fick's law of diffusion. Carbonation depth can be measured by exposing fresh concrete and spraying ii with phenolphthalein indicator solution. An example of the test on a reinforced concrete mullion is given.
