摘要
A simple setup of band selective amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) broadband light source that can operate in either the conventional band (C-band, 1525-1565 nm) or the long wavelength band (L-band, 1565-1605 nm) region is presented. The band selective ASE source is realized using a piece of unpumped erbium-doped fiber and a 1 x 2 optical switch in a single-backward-pumped configuration. A 40.9 mW C-band or 37.5 mW L-band ASE source is alternately obtained merely by controlling the state of the optical switch. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
