On the Quantitative Evaluation Framework of the Provincial Tourism Competitiveness: A Case Study of Shandong Province

This paper suggests a model of evaluation framework of the provincial tourism competitiveness and related index system by using the industrial economics theories. It also evaluates the 12 east provinces of China and specially analyzes the evaluation result of Shandong. The findings show that the competitiveness of provinces is a complicated system affected by diverse factors, including natural, social, environmental and industrial. The research is of practical significance in helping decision makers to be aware of the ranking of tourism competitiveness, especially the main factors affecting it.
