摘要
Nowadays the use of power electronic devices for the transmission of high voltage has a significant impact on the stability of the power system. Use of the fully controlled semiconductor device has advanced the both HVDC power transmission and flexible AC transmission system technologies. In this paper, an overview of the recent advances in stability improvement of power system by using VSC-HVDC transmission is provided. Control and designing of VSC with PWM technique for dynamic stability improvement is discussed. VSC-HVDC provides not only an efficient, faster system recovery after disturbance but also provides the fast and independent control of reactive and active power.
