摘要
With the explosive popularity of the Internet and the World Wide Web, most popular web sites are experiencing overloads from an increasing number of users accessing the sites at the same time. Scalable web servers are efficient ways to deal with this problem. They are capable of handling a large number of concurrent requests simultaneously, with reasonable response time and minimal request drop rate. In this article, we Firstly analyze the cause of server overload. And then we compare the advantages and disadvantages of main designs of scalable web servers at present. We finally discuss the future development of scalable web servers.
