The procedure is suggested of matching the distribution of current density for the internal (plasma cathode) and external (accelerating gap) axisymmetric problems on the surface of a plasma cathode with grid stabilization of the plasma boundary during collection of the electron current to vacuum. The matching is attained by varying the shape of the electrode systems of the plasma cathode and of the accelerating gap, and by deformation of the grid.
