摘要
New wavelet image compression method in Spherical Coordinates Domain (SCD) is proposed in this paper. In this method, the three high-frequency coefficients in SCD domain of wavelet are pre-processed. Firstly, the high-frequency coefficients are transformed to the SCD to reduce the correlation in the same scale. Then, a multi-scale model product (MSMP) is defined and some noise can be removed, which ensures a higher compression ratio. The high-frequency parts in SCD are coded by improved SPIHT algorithm. In the improved method, Matrix of Maximum Pixel (MMP) is introduced to overcome the disadvantage of traditional SPIHT algorithm. Simulation results show that the new method can have higher compression ratio.
