ADAPTING BOTTOM OF PYRAMID PEOPLE FOR A MOBILE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: A MOTIVATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

摘要
As a remedy Education is a key investment in human capital. Vocational education is one of the master keys that open door of economic and social development of a country. This will in turn improve the economy due to the higher contribution expected from the productions as a result of the improvement of the efficiency of their production techniques. Apart from that, vocational education enables opportunity for Bottom of Pyramid people (BOP) to acquire sustainable livelihood. This study examines mobile learning adaption of (BOP) from a motivational perspective in order to uplift their livelihood and empower their vocations using mobile learning framework. It employs Keller's ARCS model of motivation theory to provide better understanding of what motivates mlearning adoption in BOP people. This study will provide an insight into the research that will form the path for mobile learning framework for BOP people in Sri Lanka.
