Static Torque Characteristics of a Doubly Salient Electro-magnetic Motor with Widened Rotor Pole

摘要
Static torque characteristics of a 3-phase 12/8-pole doubly salient electro-magnetic (DSEM) motor with widened rotor pole are investigated. Cogging torque, optimal magentomotive force (MMF) ratio, and maximum torque curve of DSEM motor are analyzed by finite element analysis (FEA). Comparison of static torque characteristics between the DSEM motor with widened rotor pole and the DSEM motor with conventional rotor pole is conducted. The widened rotor pole is conducive to torque ripple suppression of DSEM motor. A prototype of the DSEM motor with widened rotor pole is developed and tested on a dynamometer. The analysis results are supported by experimental measurements.
