摘要
Numerous small hydrological research basins in German-speaking countries of Central Europe are subjected to a range of hydrological measurements and analyses conducted to support a wide variety of objectives and goals. All research basins are characterised by intensive data collection and research activities. The resulting extensive datasets are administrated by universities, environmental authorities and other institutions. 42 questionnaires were returned from a survey in April 2015. This current overview presents the analysis of 38 small hydrological research basins ranging in size from 0.06 km(2) to 50 km(2). It summarises the measured variables, used models, investigation purposes, goals, funding sources, networking and future plans. Consistent for all research basins is the need for high-resolution measurements and long-time series as well as for regular updates. The continuation of small hydrological research basins will also in future provide valuable contributions for teaching, research and environmental questions and investigations.
