Improvement of Side-Lobe Characteristic Using Non-Uniform Distribution Technique in Radar Antenna System

摘要
An antenna array with non-uniform distribution for radar antenna system with improvement of side lobe characteristic has been researched. The antenna array consists of 32 rectangular patches. Non-uniform distribution was applied to suppress the Side Lobe Level (SLL) of the antenna. The antenna module was fabricated on a substrate with a relative dielectric permittivity of 2.2 and a thickness of 0.508 mm with 50 ohm Sub Miniature version A (SMA) connector as a feeding. The measurement result shows that the antenna design has a resonant frequency of 9.3 GHz with a -26.31 of reflection coefficient. The SLL that was achieved by antenna module was -19.7 dB.
