The Synthesis, Crystal Structures, and Thermal Properties of a New Zn(II) Coordination Polymer With Malonic Acid

摘要
The reaction of malonic acid (HOOCCH2COOH), Zn(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O, 4,4'-dipyridyldisulfide (bpds) and NaOH in aqueous methanol solution under ambient conditions yielded a new complex Zn-2(bpds)(2)(C3H2O4)(2)(H2O)(2). The complex has been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, TG-DTA analyses, elemental analyses, and powder X-ray diffraction. The Zn atoms are octahedrally coordinated by one nitrogen atom and five oxygen atoms to complete a ZnNO5 octahedra, which is bridged by malonato ligands to generate 2D sheets with the bpds acted as terminal ligand. The resulting 2D sheets are stacked in an center dot center dot center dot ABABAB center dot center dot center dot sequence due to van der Waals forces.
