摘要
This paper outlines the reasons for renaming an existing course in Industrial Engineering and Computing to one titled Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, It describes the features of the new course which reflect the changing circumstances and needs of the industry sectors which will employ the graduates, the entry skills and expectations of school leavers and the changes by government to fund tertiary education, The course builds on the technical content of the original course to provide a sound engineering foundation complemented by subjects which will enable the graduates to have an improved vision of the business environment, communication and team building skills and the necessary skills to provide manufacturers with a competitive edge in the next decade.
