Studies of 1,3-butadiene hydrogenation on Pd nanostructures

摘要
Bond order conservation-Morse potential model (BOC-MP) has been used to study the 1,3-butadiene hydrogenation reaction on Pd single crystals and nanostructures. For reactions on single crystal surfaces the results suggest complete butadiene hydrogenation to butene before butene hydrogenation to butane takes place; and for reactions on supported particles the rate of hydrogenation is found to increase with increase in size of the nanostructures, both in agreement with the experimental results.
