Modeling and Stability Analysis of an Extended Cooperative-Driving Car Following Model Based on Intelligent Transportation System

摘要
Take advantage of the newly available information along with the popularization of intelligent transportation system, an extended cooperative-driving car following model is presented by incorporating the acceleration information of the leading car and multiple headways ahead in traffic flow. The stability analysis of this new model was given out by linear stability theory and showed the stable region of this new model is enlarged compared with the existed relevant models. The numerical simulation of velocity configuration shows that the traffic congestion can be suppressed efficiently with the new consideration. The good agreement between the numerical simulation results and the analytical ones validate that the proposed model is effective.
