摘要
Only 20 years agog the real estate industry in China was so small that one could say that it didn't even exist. Today, Shanghai has over 2000 real estate companies, developing over 10 million square meters of residential property per year, and an untold amount of commercial property. Given the astonishing rate of growth as buildings spouted from the ground overnight; one would think that the Chinese real estate development companies are doing well. But they are. not. Actually, the majority of them have never heard of the terms "project management" or " IPMA". Developers are so inexperienced that they are using out-dated methods of management to manage several simultaneous projects - they cannot survive the changes now taking place. This paper will start at the foundations of project. management. It will then explain the four major reasons why Chinese real estate developers will not be competitive in the coming years. Finally, it will describe exactly how the principles of project management can arm a real estate company with the tools necessary for success.
