摘要：
The paper presents an integrated scheme for numerical protection to the alternator using a microcontroller based general-purpose hardware layout. The scheme envisages protection against stator and rotor insulation failures, field and prime-mover failures. A single supervisory loop utilising simple and novel relaying techniques and involving no floating-point computations, perform surveillance of the generator parameters to determine fault conditions. The execution time for the relaying algorithm encompassing all the functions is two and a half power cycles.
