摘要
An efficient theoretical method was proposed to generate quantum pure states of a single trapped cold ion without performing the Lamb-Dicke approximation. The preparations of arbitrary entangled states between the external and internal degrees of freedom were also studied. The experimental realizability of the method was discussed. The proposed method performs well for an arbitary-strength coupling between the internal and external degrees of freedom of the ion.
