Effect of Solution Treatment on Microstructure and Properties of Hybrid Reinforced 2124 Aluminum Matrix Composites by B4Cp/SiCp

摘要
The 2124Ti aluminum alloy powder was self-designed and fabricated as the matrix, with micro-B4Cp and nano-SiCp adding a certain amount of Ti as the reinforcement, and the 10% B4Cp-2% SiCp/2124Ti composite material was prepared by powder metallurgy. The effects of three multistage solid solutions (G1: 480 degrees C x 2 h + 490 degrees C x 2 h, G2: 480 degrees C x 2 h + 490 degrees C x 2 h + 500 degrees C x 2 h and G3: 480 degrees C x 2 h + 490 degrees C x 2 h + 500 degrees C x 2 h + 510 degrees C x 2 h) on the organization and properties of the 10% B4Cp-2% SiCp/2124Ti composite were investigated, and the optimal aging time of the material was explored after the solid solution. The results show that the G3 solid solution process had the best effect on improving the material performance. With the increase of solid solution temperature and the increase of solid solution time, the hardness of composite material increased significantly after solid dissolution. After 12h of 185 degrees C aging, the hardness reached the peak, which increased by 23.6 similar to 50.6 HV compared with the hardness before the solid solution. With the increase of solid dissolution degree, the material conductivity decreased. Moreover, the compressive strength of the composite material was greatly improved after three solid solutions and 12h of aging, which was 690, 750 and 765 MPa namely, but the toughness of the material declined.
