Relationship between superstitious beliefs, and Big Five Personality Traits with gender

摘要
Objective: To investigate the relationship between, superstitious beliefs, and five-factor model personality traits (agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness) among participants.Methodology: This correlational study was conducted in Garrison University Lahore, Pakistan from November 2020 to December 2020. Data were collected online. Study included 200 males and females with age range 15 to 25 years. The questionnaires, a measure to Superstitions scale, and Mini International Personality Item Pol scale were used.Results: Out of 200 participants, superstitious males score was 37.10 +/- 11.99 and superstitious females score 35.40 +/- 12.54 (p = 0.3). Superstitious beliefs among participant had positive effect with 0.36 for extroversion and 0.10 for neuroticism personality traits.Conclusion: Extroversion and neuroticism personality traits were positive predictor of superstitious beliefs among participants and male and female showing the difference on superstitious beliefs.
