摘要
This paper aims to show the results of a bibliographic survey that collected information on the theme of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), focusing on the main obstacles and benefits of its implementation. In that context, 30 papers correlated with the objective of this research were selected and reviewed. They approached the obstacles and benefits of implementing TPM. The central obstacles that stand out include human failure due to a lack of skill and inefficient training, resistance to change, and lack of confidence in the method. The benefits listed by the papers include awareness of the reduction of losses resulting from equipment failures, cost reduction by decreasing downtime and improving the efficiency of use, and the possibility of applying new technologies, like robotics and Industry 4.0, improving the safety of operators and identifying failures better, among others. However, full participation and effective commitment from the employees during the TPM implementation process are essential to solidify the benefits generated by this method and aim for new heights.
