摘要
National interest in and usage of medical marijuana has been growing. Medical marijuana use has been legalized in most states within the United States (US), yet it remains illegal under federal law. This creates a conflict for those interested in using or supporting medical marijuana use, especially in healthcare and education. The conflict created by legalizing use at the state level only creates difficult situations for schools of nursing's (SON) prelicensure nursing programs to address usage in relation to their drug usage policies. A literature review was conducted to identify prelicensure nursing student knowledge, use, and attitudes toward medical marijuana. As a result, findings related to these trends in prelicensure nursing student use were identified. From these findings, considerations for prelicensure nursing programs are discussed.(c) 2023 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Published by Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
