摘要
Rationality quotient (RQ), which has been recently introduced by Keith Stanovich, relies on two hypotheses. First, intelligence and rationality are independent based on narrow view (IQ tests or MAMBIT) (H-1); and, an individual may be high in one and low in another (H-2). This article examined these hypotheses. Participants included (n = 280) students from the social sciences (psychology & sociology) and basic sciences (physics & math). The participants filled out the CART tasks to assess the RQ, and the WAIS-III to assess the IQ. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) indicated that IQ and RQ are two factors but positively and significantly correlated. In addition, there was no significant difference among the students with high and low IQs in intellectual errors and biases (RQ) despite Stanovich's hypothesis.
