Investigation of the hardness and enthalpy of formation of the Sigma phase and the phase equilibria in the Cr-Co-Mn system

摘要
Phase transformations of the Cr-Co-Mn system have been studied using DTA, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). Liquidus and solidus projections, a melting diagram and Scheil reaction scheme in the whole concentration range have been constructed. Enthalpy of formation of equimolar & sigma; phase was obtained using drop-solution calorimetry. Composition dependency of microhardness for single-phase & sigma; alloys was obtained.
