摘要
The current study was aimed at investigating metabolite regulations and nutrient assimilation patterns as biomarkers for waterborne fungal and spoilage bacterial intensities in greenhouse-cultivated tomato crops employing ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-qToF-MS) and inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The detection and identification of bioactive molecular metabolites to ascertain their bioavailability and bio-efficacy are of interest in their up-regulated/downregulated response to microbial infections in vegetable crops. The research project has applied established and emerging biotechnological analytical technologies to detect and identify biotic stress in tomato crops in greenhouse experiments with anticipated application in field studies.
