New uses of the territory, financial intermediation and technological convergence in Argentina

In the period of globalization, finance finds new ways to expand in society and the territory through contemporary technological modernizations. The use of technical objects - such as smartphones- and digital platforms accelerated the spread of financial services and products in virtual environments. This article aims to understand the new uses of the territory and technological modernization, based on actions by fintech companies that operate mainly with electronic means of payment through mobile applications. The methodology used is based on consultations of secondary information sources, such as publications by public and private institutions and academic papers related to the subject, and primary sources based on interviews with informants who work in computer and telecommunications service companies in Argentina.
