摘要
In the context of the increasingly digitalised modern society, the development of digital competence (DC) from early childhood is ever more essential. This situation represents a challenge for educational institutions at all levels, as they must ensure the development of students' DC, as well as train staff in teachers' digital competence (TDC). This study aims at measuring the self-perception of students' DC and TDC in a network of primary and secondary schools in the Valencian Community as a first step toward the detection of possible gaps and inequali-ties that may need to be addressed. The results show a high level of self-perceived DC among students and a me-dium-expert level of TDC among teachers. Additionally, differences in the self-assessed level of DC and TDC were found between the scores for the individual dimensions and types of literacy that make up these competencies, and there were significant differences in teachers' self-assessment as a function of age and educational level. These findings provide evidence for the need to develop training programs aimed at enhancing TDC in order to reduce the inequalities found.
