摘要
Objective. Describe and compare the nutritional status of wixaritari and mestizo university students through anthropo-metric indicators. Methods. Descriptive cross-sectional study. Anthropometric measurements of weight, height, average arm circumference, hip, waist, humeral diameter, bicipital, tricipital, subscapular and suprailiac skin fold were taken for each student, anthropometric indices were obtained: body mass index, waist index hip, cardio-vascular risk due to CHF, body fat percentage and complexion. Results. There was a sample of 388 university students, of which 46 are students belonging to the Wixarika ethnic group and 342 are mestizos. There was a statistically significant dif-ference (p & LE; 0.05) in size, hip circumference, PCT, PCB, PCSI and PCSE, BMI and fat distribution. A percentage of 45% (154) of the mestizo students presented malnutrition and compared with only 17.7% (8) of the wixaritari students, be-ing the overweight the most prevalent problem in both groups. As for the complexion, 76.8% (298) is the average of small complexion, 21.6% (84) the average of medium com-plexion and 1.8% (6) the average of large complexion of the entire sample. Regarding fat distribution, a higher percentage of wixaritari students have an android distribution. Conclusions. The creation of institutional public policies that consider the needs of their specific groups is necessary, so that an environment that strengthens the identity dimen-sion of their groups can be built, guaranteeing the preserva-tion of their values and traditions of culture, ensuring spaces and food That are appropriate.
