From traditional agriculture to rural tourism: Carahue, Chile

The objective of the article is to analyse the changes that are being generated in agriculture for the loss of relative importance of this activity, which has given way to a conversion towards tourism or as a complement to this in the commune of Carahue, Chile. A qualitative methodology-applying semi-structured interviews was used. The results indicate that there is indeed a decline of agricultural activity where the population has been oriented to tourist activities under different modalities and that although they are changes that are observed in different rural spaces, the processes will be related to the specificities of each territory.
