Game-based learning could improve students' liveliness in the learning process. Games have an important role in boosting both the cognitive and affective development of the student. Games in the learning process are defined as fun and enjoyable activities that are organized in such a way. Thus, players follow some rules to achieve specific learning goals. Bibliometric research analysis was employed to find out research development in game-based learning. This research conducted a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed articles published from 2012 until 2021 using the VOSviewer application. The research methodology applied in this study was bibliometric analysis. 200 articles gained from the harvesting process. This study showed that the research topic on gamebased learning has a quite high chance to be researched and also could be associated with other disciplines to create a novelty of the research.
