A High Performance Rectangular Waveguide Band Pass Filter for 5G Communication Systems

摘要
This paper presents a high-performance band pass filter (BPF) realized in rectangular waveguide technology to be used in sub-6 GHz 5G communication base-station transceivers. The filter utilizes advanced state-of-the-art design methodology to achieve the stringent specifications demanded by the application. The BPF designed from 3.3 GHz to 3.7 GHz has a measured pass band insertion loss better than 0.4 dB and return loss better than 18 dB over the bandwidth. The BPF achieves a stringent rejection of 60 dB at +30 MHz offset and has a spurious free window more than 500 MHz. The measured group delay variation is within 40 ns over the entire bandwidth.
