摘要
In this manuscript, a new, to the best of our knowledge, type of abruptly dual auto-focusing and self-healing beam constructed by nesting a circular edge dislocation (CED) in a circle Pearcey beam (CPB) is introduced theoretically and demonstrated experimentally. The circle Pearcey edge dislocation beam (CPEDB) is endowed with the abruptly dual auto-focusing property and the ability of self-healing superior to that of the CPB. One can adjust not only the focal length, the intensity and the abruptness of the dual foci but also the radius of the CED of the CPEDB by setting proper parameters, making it a more applicable candidate than conventional abruptly auto-focusing beams for applications such as biomedical treatment and laser ablation. And we use the similarity, the structural similarity and the mean squared error indexes to quantify the ability of self-healing of the CPEDB, which is found to be superior to that of the CPB. Moreover, the nested CED is investigated, whose proportion and rate of the collapse are both tunable. This beam is promising in applications such as trapping microparticles and optical manipulation.
