The portrait of women in early first Christian communities in the biblical book Acts of the Apostles

This article rescues the role of women in the devlopment and consolidation of first Christian communities, through the analysis of the biblical book called Acts. The main objective of the research were to present and comprehend the way that the female figures were mentioned in the text, discussing the functions of women in the Roman Catholic Church. To do so, we performed a bibliographical research and analyse of the Acts book in the Bible. With this research it was possible to emphasize the importance of women in the Church, besides verifyng the existence of several mentions of women, both female figures called by their own names and those wh are only designated as women, who formed the groups of the first Christian women.
