摘要
Micrasterias levergerensis W.F.O.Duarte-dos-Santos & C.E.M.Bicudo sp. nov. (Desmidiaceae, Zygnematophyceae) is a newly discovered desmid species collected from Brazil. The paper describes the species based on material gathered from a pond in Santo Antonio do Leverger Pantanal, State of Mato Grosso. The diagnostic features that distinguish Micrasterias levergerensis sp. nov. from all other species in the genus include a broadly cuneate polar lobe with straight lateral margins, a slightly retuse at the center apex, and an apical margin adorned with irregularly distributed small spines.
