摘要
Numerous engineering applications that employ hybrid composites reinforced with natural fibers in order to reduce the use of synthetic materials. In this present work, the reinforcement of banyan and kevlar fiber woven fabric is 40% with aliphatic epoxy polymer 55% blended in magnesium oxide (MgO) 5% to calculate the strength of the hybrid composite was measured by varying the weight percentage of these two fibers. To quantify the mechanical properties of the hybrid composite and pinpoint the precise impact that the fiber weight percentage and stacking order of the fibers had on the material's strength, tensile, flexural, compression, impact, and hardness tests were carried out. All mechanical properties, including tensile (226.1MPa) and compressive (165.7MPa) strengths, of kevlar/banyan fiber-reinforced hybrid composites improve by 20% when the kevlar fiber weight fraction is increased by 20%. In addition, the composite's layering order and filler weight ratio substantially influence the compressive strength of hybrid composites. Surface scanning electron microscopy was used to determine the most prevalent cause of failure in hybrid composites.
