摘要
The rapid and adequate provision of care for patients with emergency-relevant, chronic and rare diseases is crucial. In emergencies, information about these specific conditions is often lacking. The "Nordstern" system offers a solution: a wristband with an individual code enables emergency responders to access vital information about the patient in the case of an emergency. This innovation sustainably enhances emergency care. The "Nordstern" system consists of a wristband and an individual code assigned to each individual wearer. Emergency responders access patient data through the emergency services smartphone or via the control center. The patient wears the wristband on the wrist. It serves as an identifying feature and is designed in a way that the alphabetical code is easily accessible. This technical sophistication ensures the availability of relevant information in emergencies. "Nordstern" plans to implement emergency bracelets in Austria over the next 3 years. This step is crucial for widespread deployment for individuals requiring specialized treatment in emergencies. "Nordstern" will make a significant contribution to improving emergency care. The successful implementation of "Nordstern" in Lower Austria demonstrates the potential of the system for emergency care. Widespread provision of the necessary web applications to emergency services will be crucial to maximize the effectiveness of "Nordstern". "Nordstern" represents a milestone towards optimized emergency care and has the potential to provide targeted and adequate care to individuals with emergency-relevant, chronic, and rare diseases.
