摘要
In this paper, the author proposes an optimal control model describing the containment of an outbreak used for determining an optimal vaccination schedule where the vaccination supply is limited within a given time period. The model also takes into account different age groups, which incorporates varying contact rates within and across the groups. The optimality is provided using the Pontryagin maximal principle via an adjoint system. A numerical example is then presented based on the age-specific contact behaviors and dermographic data of Bangkok to illustrate how the model can be used to obtain the optimal schedule.
