摘要
Audience choices in a new media environment are a persistent concern for all those involved in the content production process. This research explores how certain content behaves across media platforms; the context of the research is the Ecuadorian public, utilizing an instrument created by academic and governmental peers. The investigation begins by defining concepts related to media and their coexistence-supported by the media ecology approach-; the most used devices in media consumption; the most widely selected media platforms; how content topics are chosen based on media platforms; and finally, the results of the study. Among these outcomes, the importance of mobile devices stands out, as well as the use of up-to-date platforms-such as social media or YouTube-and how entertainment is the prominent content consumed in the media through platforms.
