摘要：
The nuclear pore complex (NPC) both mediates exchange of proteins and RNA between the nucleus and the cytoplasm and physically interacts with chromatin to regulate transcription. In this issue of JCB, Kumar et al. (2023. J. Cell Biol.) provide new insight into the molecular basis for NPC-mediated epigenetic silencing through loading of the replication processivity factor PCNA.
