摘要
With the huge growth in communication technology in recent times, transmission of data as well as highresolution images over long distance has become a necessity. Internet is playing the key role in this area. As images require huge bandwidth for transmission, so compression of images is essential. Here we have developed an effective method of image compression in frequency domain, which can be applied for all types of images. In this paper we have applied the algorithm for infrared military images. Image data is modulated using Amplitude Grating with different spatial frequencies and orientation angles. This method can be used to store and retrieve multiple infrared images due to absence of aliasing problem.
