摘要
High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) dipole magnets are of great importance for compact gantry systems of future particle beam radiation therapies. This study presents the design and fabrication of a prototype HTS dipole magnet, consisting of two Canted-Cosine-Theta (CCT) coils wound with 70 meters of 6-mm diameter Conductor on Round Core (CORC) type cable. The inner and outer coils, with 40 and 41 turns respectively, are concentrically installed with a radial gap of 10 mm. The main structure is made of anodized aluminum alloy 6061, and the connection between the two coils is achieved through a praying-hands type cable joint. Fastening and hoisting structures are added to form a compact magnetic unit. This magnet prototype aims to achieve a target dipole field of 0.5 T at 4.2 K in the 164-mm diameter aperture with an operation current of 3.25 kA. It was successfully charged to 300 A during the 77 K test, reaching the design target, thus facilitating initial validation of the feasibility of the design methods and manufacturing processes.
