The aim of this paper was to build an overview of Brazilian research on the use of software as teaching and learning tools for people with intellectual disabilities. This is a bibliographic survey of articles published between 2010 and 2019 available in peer-reviewed journals from CAPES Journal Portal, which were obtained from the descriptors combinations: software, software, application, applications, educational software, educational application, mental disability and intellectual disability. At the end of the selection, two articles were analyzed. In A1 the SCALA software was used to intervene in textual production, while in A2 were: Coelho Sabido, 101 Exercises, Elementary School I and Elementary School II with goals defined from the skills and difficulties presented by two groups of students with ID. It is concluded that the computer and educational software, when used with pedagogical purpose, become a facilitating resource in the teaching and learning process of people with intellectual disabilities.
